About
This is where I write up what I’m learning. Right now that’s data structures and algorithms. Maths, cooking and other subjects will follow.
Three reading levels
Many posts have a switcher at the top: Beginner, Intermediate and Expert. Pick the one that fits you and the post changes to match. Each post may name the levels to suit its topic, but they always run from beginner to expert.
- Beginner explains the idea from scratch, without assuming any background.
- Intermediate adds the working detail, such as code, method or technique.
- Expert goes further into cost, trade-offs and the reasoning behind the method.
Your choice is remembered, so every other post opens at the same level. Diagrams and interactive figures are the same at every level.
Why write it up
Explaining something at three levels is a good test of whether I understand it. If I can’t write the beginner version simply, or the expert version precisely, I have more to learn.
